Yup, that’s it. Not much there is there? That’s why the pictures are on this page too! Really though, the above is about all you need to know about a kit of RAM, the only thing I can think of that might be useful is a height spec.

Due to the brevity of the specs, here’re some photos! We’ll start with the packaging.

The ram is pretty cool looking. The PCB itself is very short, shorter than motherboard RAM clips. The heatsinks raise it above them, but only by a little bit. Yes, I do realize that traditionally these are called heatspreaders. I think that’s silly though, we aren’t trying to spread the heat we’re trying to get rid of it!

There isn’t much more to the packaging than there was to the specifications list, really.

Out of the packaging they look quite similar to how they looked in the packaging. Who would have thought? Those heatsinks are aluminum, by the way. Crucial isn’t a company that uses steel. This is good, as steel makes a terrible heatsink.

A top/bottom shot, for anybody interested. Not really much to see other than the contacts for the RAM chips.

crucial16gb-sticks-label

The label has almost as much data as the specification sheet! It’s very informative, much better than some I’ve seen.

Installed, you can get a really good idea just how short this RAM is.

With the Phanteks PH-TC14PE installed it’s even easier to see how short the RAM is:

Really short, that’s how short. The board is Gigabyte’s new Z77X-UP4-TH, look for a review on it coming soon.

Now that we’ve seen it, let’s test it!
