Lexar ARES RGB DDR5-6000 32GB Memory Kit Review

Conclusion and Verdict

Not so long ago, we reviewed the Lexar ARES DDR5-5200 32GB Memory Kit, which offered decent performance and affordability, but lacked RGB. This time round, Lexar have produced a RGB version of the same memory kit, but runs much faster at DDR5-6000!

It’s compatible with all the major RGB eco-systems out there including Asus Aura Sync, MSI Mystic Light Sync, Gigabyte RGB Fusion and ASRock’s Polychrome Sync. It also comes with its own Lexar RGB Sync software allowing you can customize your RGB lighting effects to your liking.

With all memory settings on AUTO and XMP 3.0 enabled, the Lexar ARES RGB DDR5-6000 performed as beautifully. During the AIDA64 memory tests, we got a memory Read speed of 88,646 MB/s, Write speed of 81,299 MB/s and a Copy speed of 80,162 MB/s.

One thing I noticed about these memory modules is that it uses SK Hynix memory ICs, which are know to overclock very well. So when it comes to overclocking, I was very pleased to say I was be able to overclock these memory modules to DDR5-6400. All I did in the BIOS was to enable the XMP 3.0 profile, and increased the memory speed to DDR5-6400 with all other settings at default. So in that respect, I was extremely happy with its overclocking ability.

The Lexar ARES RGB DDR5-6000 memory kits comes with the same dark grey heatspreaders as before, and they seems to do an adequate job of cooling the ram. Full load temps reached a high of 61 degrees Celisus. It’s higher than I expected, but remember the ram is running at the higher speed of DDR5-6000.

Prices of DDR5 ram are coming down a lot over the past few months. So I think it’s a good time to consider upgrading your system if you’re still on DDR4.

You can buy the Lexar ARES RGB DDR5-6000 32GB kit for around USD $110 from Amazon – https://amzn.to/3FuHUjX

If you’re looking for some nice RGB memory kits, that offers good performance and decent overclocking ability, then look no further. The Lexar ARES RGB DDR5-6000 32GB kits are definitely worth considering, and you should put them on the very top of your shopping list.
