Lexar Hades RGB DDR4-3600 32GB Memory Kit Review

Overclocking

Disclaimer: Overclocking is never guaranteed, so the results may vary depending on certain conditions and various hardware configurations. I am not recommending overclocking if you do not know what you are doing. High voltages may damage hardware, and the warranty will not cover it.

I was able to mildly overclock the Lexar Hades RGB memory to a respectable DDR4-4000. In order to do this I had to increase the DRAM voltage from 1.35V to 1.40-1.45V.

Conclusion and Verdict

As this is first RGB memory from Lexar designed for overclocking and gaming enthusiast, I have to say I quite impressed to be honest. The RGB lighting effects look gorgeous, the XMP profiles worked flawlessly, and we were able to overclock them easily to DDR4-4000 speeds with a few clicks in the BIOS.

During our memory tests on AIDA64, we got some decent scores considering we’re using an AMD based system. Memory copy speed was a nippy 45,418 MB/s, while read and write speeds was at 50,127 MB/s and 28,721 MB/s respectively.

Setting up and enabling XMP profiles in the BIOS is easy. However, not all XMP enabled ram will work on your motherboard. So, it’s always good to check the motherboard’s QVL for memory compatibility. You can find that on the motherboard manufacturer’s website.

The Lexar Hades RGB ram comes with some nice and sleek heat spreaders, along with the etched Lexar logo on the RGB strip, all of which makes the memory modules aesthetically pleasing.
