Patriot Viper Elite II 16GB DDR4-4000 Memory Kit Review

Package and its Contents

The Viper Elite II, 16GB DDR4-3600 kit, arrived in retail packaging, similar to other Patriot memory kits. A small, flat box is well described, so we clearly know what is inside. Parts of the front are also transparent, so we can see how memory modules look like.

There is also info about compatibility and support but also various ways of contact with Patriot on the box.

The Viper Elite II looks rather standard comparing to other gaming memory kits on the market. There are no RGB LEDs or anything more flashy. The memory modules are protected by aluminum heatsinks painted red and black, with a Viper Gaming logo on each side. We may like this design or not; either way, it won’t change much once we install the RAM on the motherboard, and the most important is stability and performance.

Patriot Viper II doesn’t run hot, so there is no need for any special airflow or additional fans. Modules in small and tight SFF builds keep safe temperatures of around 55°C. Large setups with good airflow will keep them at about 10-15°C less.

Photos were taken on the MSI X570 Unify motherboard, while tests were performed on the MSI Z590 Unify.

We will show you some of our test results in various benchmarks and popular games on the next page.
