TeamGroup T-Force Zeus 64GB DDR4-3200 SO-DIMM Review

Overclocking

Disclaimer: Overclocking is never guaranteed, so that the results may vary depending on certain conditions and various hardware configurations. I am not recommending overclocking if you do not know what you are doing. High voltages may damage hardware, and the warranty will not cover it.

Laptop memory overclocking is quite hard as most laptops don’t offer manual RAM adjustments. Most new series also don’t support XMP profiles, and we are limited to VDIMM of 1.20V. This is why most SODIMM are available at quite relaxed timings. Good for us, new processor series, fast cache, and fast memory controllers cover most delays.

We can still make something to speed up our RAM, but it highly depends on the IC. Thaiphoon Burner software gives us a chance to adjust timings and program our own memory profiles. In the case of T-Force Zeus, we could lower timings from CL22-22-22 to CL20-20-20. As far as the bandwidth is not much higher, we could lower the latency by about 4ns.

Considering the performance gain, our tweaking wasn’t really worth the time.  If we could change the voltage, then I’m sure that results would be spectacular. Also, profiles of lower capacity memory kits are easier to optimize. On the other hand, the default settings of the T-Force Zeus are already fast enough, so I highly doubt that anyone would need to adjust anything additional. Since we can, then we show you some extra so you won’t have to do that on your own.

Below is a screenshot with more detailed settings and the stability test.
