Thermaltake TOUGHRAM XG RGB DDR5-6000 32GB Memory Kit Review

Conclusion and Verdict

We’ve tested many DDR4 memory kits in the past from Thermaltake. They all seem to perform pretty well, and I never ran in to any real issues at all. So when I got the chance to take a look at the Thermaltake TOUGHRAM XG RGB DDR5-6000, I was pretty excited. These are the first DDR5 memory kits we’ve tested from Thermaltake with RGB, and I have to say … I’m really impressed.

With XMP 3.0 enabled and all memory settings on AUTO, the Thermaltake TOUGHRAM XG RGB DDR5-6000 performed beautifully. During the AIDA64 memory tests, we got super fast memory Read speed of 95,332 MB/s, Write speed of 84,528 MB/s and a Copy speed of 86,178 MB/s.

When it comes to aesthetics, these modules look amazing. Its sleek and sophisticated heatsink design with different 2 colour aluminum, and a chrome stripe in the middle will look great on any PC. Full load temps hit a high of 55-56 degrees Celisus. It may seem a little high, but the included heatspreader seems to be doing an adequate job of cooling the ram.

For RGB lovers, the 16 high-lumen addressable LEDs along the top strip of the memory module are bright and stunning, giving you a more dynamic lighting experience. It’s compatible with all the major RGB eco systems out there, including Asus Aura Sync, MSI Mystic Light Sync, Gigabyte RGB Fusion, ASRock Polychrome RGB  and of course Thermaltake’s very own TT RGB software.

As far as overclocking is concerned, I’m more than happy to say it can easily overclock to DDR5-6400 (from the default speed of DDR5-6000). I just increased the speed (in the BIOS) from the default speed of DDR5-6000 to a nippy DDR5-6400. All other settings were left to AUTO. I didn’t have to change any memory timings or increase the voltage.

All in all, these TOUGHRAM XG RGB DDR5-6000 32GB memory kits from Thermaltake, are the perfect match for any enthusiast who wants to build a RGB-based system that requires DDR5 ram.
