Closer Look
The Krypton 555 mouse comes in a small box, similar to the packages of other Genesis mice. The box is well described in a couple of languages and has key features listed on the box’s side. Everything we may want to know is printed on the exterior.
Inside the box, besides the mouse itself, we will find a quick installation guide and a spare set of skates. Everything is well-protected, which suggests that the product is high quality.
The Krypton 555 has a design based on hexagonal holes, which is also very popular with other brands. It looks interesting, lowers weight, and helps air circulation.
The mouse has everything that most gamers need, including seven programable buttons. Gamers who play only MMORPG may need some more buttons for macros and shortcuts, but it’s a single specific group that should take a look at other Genesis products.
The Krypton 555 mouse uses a PixArt PAW 3333 sensor and highly durable switches. We can count on anything between 200 and 8000 DPI, which is more than enough for most games. I’m not using more than 3000-4000 while gaming.
The mouse feels comfortable and moves smoothly on all Genesis mouse pads, including the Carbon 400 M that arrived with the mouse. There were also no problems on other surfaces, but it’s good to have a high-quality gaming mouse pad for the best results.
The Carbon 400 M mouse pad is available in bright tones, not entirely white but close. It perfectly matches the white version of the Krypton 555 mouse, so I recommend it as a set.
