I mentioned as was playing catch up with all my friends, as by the time I got used to the general mechanics of the game around level 10, they had all reached the level cap of 30. By the time I reached 30, they all have gotten high-end gear (think Destiny style), and I was still on much lower gear. Gear denotes mainly how much health and DPS you do, whilst my DPS is around 72k, they’re on around 110k. Gear levels start from grey then go up to green, blue, purple and then gold. Gold gear you will mainly get from the Dark Zone. My gear is all on purple. And then there are all the in-game glitches/bugs that others took advantage of which I missed. At round level 23-24, just off one the area’s safe houses there is a named elite mob thats not too hard to kill. The glitch was if you killed him without killing his lackeys, he would respawn again, meaning you can go back and kill him again and each time he would drop a decent piece of gear.
Your current gear setup with your stats at the top…..I haven’t got a gold one yet 🙁
Another glitch was that whilst the instances were for a maximum of 4 players, 8 players could enter, so then the hardest instance at the moment (Russian consulate) was then spammed with 8 players over and over again in the hope he would drop a rare gold piece of gear.
There are vendors at your base, safe houses and Dark Zone where you can buy gear or blueprints of gear so you can craft them at your Crafting Station at your base. Tip: don’t bother selling your items, deconstruct them for materials for crafting.
