Performance

All tests were performed on Lenovo M490s notebook and Windows 8 x64. We have to remember that results may vary depends from used USB 3.0 controller or even processor and overall system speed.

 

ATTO Disk Benchmark

Popular ATTO benchmark is testing sequential transfers and is pretty good tool to measure disk performance.

As we see read transfers are much above declared by Kingston 150MB/s. Maximum read transfer of 190MB/s is really good result. Slightly below declared speed is write transfer but I can say it’s still acceptable.

 

 

Anvil’s Storage Utilities

Next test is Anvil Benchmark which is showing us many more transfers and IOPS ( Input/Output Operations per Second ).

Also here we see sequential transfers much above declared speed reaching 187.13 MB/s read and 76.29 MB/s write.

Random transfers for read look good however writes are really low. Even though it looks bad, it’s about what all flash drives can offer.

At the end CDM benchmark. I have added also comparison between nearly full and empty drive.

Once again Kingston Ultimate DT G3 is achieving higher results than declared by manufacturer.

Other interesting thing is how this flash drive is acting when it’s full. With 97% used space it’s still performing like an empty drive. We can count that no matter how much data we will have on the drive, it won’t slow down.It’s just great.
