Lexar JumpDrive M20c 32GB USB Type-C Flash Drive Review

Conclusion

Lexar JumpDrive M20c is a well designed flash drive. We wish to see it in a more solid form but it’s still good and it has it’s advantages.

M20c performs good and offers stable bandwidth regardless if it performs sequential or random operations. As I mentioned, for many users it counts more than couple of MB/s higher bandwidth but with random performance drops what we can see in some other flash drives on the market. Using JumpDrive M20c you simply won’t see that.

Build is a bit too plastic for me but it’s not bad. It’s light and functional and with some other advantages you don’t even think about what it’s made of.

USB Type-C connector will be clearly advantage for all those who are using new devices where more often we can see new connectors. Reversible design also helps to use it right. I know it’s hard to think that someone can damage USB port trying to put device wrong side but it happens. With Type-C connector you don’t have to worry about it. It’s actually weird it took so much time to design connector like that.

Now maybe couple of words about price and availability. Really I’m not sure what will be the price as JumpDrive M20c is not yet available but will be soon. Expected price shouldn’t be high as 32GB JumpDrive M20 costs now about $15. New version maybe will cost some more but not much.

 Update:

Not much time has passed since publishing this review and we’ve received official prices for JumpDrive M20c flash drives: 16GB $20.99, 32GB $27.99 and 64GB $41.99.
