GIGABYTE GeForce RTX 4070 Ti Gaming OC Graphics Card Review

Test Rig

For our tests, we used a test rig which includes the Asus Strix Z790-E Gaming motherboard , along with an Intel 13th Gen Core i9-13900K (Raptor Lake) @ default clock speed, as well as 32GB of Patriot Viper Gaming Venom RGB DDR5-6200 ram in quad channel mode.

All tests were conducted at turbo clock speeds at a resolution of 1920×1080. High or Ultra settings enabled.

 AIDA64 GPU Info

As you can seen from screenshot below … the RX 7900 XTX is based on AMD’s Navi 31 (RDNA 3) architecture using the 5nm FinFET process. It uses 24GB of GDDR6 ram running at the faster 20Gbps on a 384-bit memory bus.

PassMark – Performance Test 9.0 (3D Test)

Test the speed of your 3D video card by selecting from options such as fogging, lighting, alpha blending, wire frame, texturing, resolution, color depth, object rotation and object displacement. Separate tests for DirectX 9,10,11 & 12. With support for 4K resolution.

Load Temperatures

After hearing all the negative experiences from users, about the Radeon RX 7900 XTX’s GPU hotspots reaching 110 degrees Celsius, I was a little worried if our custom Radeon card from ASRock will suffer the same fate.

Luckily at full load, the card reached a high of only 60 degrees Celsius, with the GPU Hotspot reached a maximum of 106 degrees Celsius, but averages just under 100 degress Celsius. It’s still high, but didn’t affect performance or caused any throttling. Remember, this card uses a factory-overclocked GPU, so considering the fact it isn’t too bad.

It seems the ASRock Phantom Gaming 3X cooling solution is doing a great job of cooling the graphics card. This is all thanks to the large heatsink with 6 heatpipes and triple ring fans. So no complaints here.
