Gigabyte Radeon HD 5770 Silent Cell Graphics Card Review

Since the card is meant to be silent (with no fans required for cooling),  the heatsink had to be fairly large to cope with the excess heat. In fact, the entire card is completely covered by the new Silent Cell heatsink … it’s massive!

The card itself uses up two slot space, which is normal considering the size of the new Silent Cell heatsink. As you can see above, one slot has the outputs for DVI, Displayport and a gold-plated HDMI, while the other has a small array of aluminum fins which stick out a little.

Closer Look

The large array of aluminum fins allow excellent heat disspation. This is also helped by the 4 heatpipes that extend outwards from within the Silent Cell heatsink (3 visible from the bottom and 1 above on the extended bit).  As usual, there’s a Crossfire bridge connector and only one PCIe power cable is needed for the card, which I think is great as it will allow better airflow within the chassis.
