"AMD plummets in microprocessor market ranking.When it comes to processors for smartphones and tablet computers, companies like Qualcomm and Samsung have come a long way over the last several years. Processors from both manufacturers have turned up in a wide range of devices, with Samsung powering its own smartphones and those from Apple.

Two of the biggest companies in the microprocessor world are Intel and AMD. While Intel has continued to have success in the mobile processor market, even though its processors aren't as power efficient as offerings from other companies in the smartphone and tablet world, AMD has seen its market share continue to decline.
 
A new report his week from IC Insights takes a look at the overall microprocessor market for 2012. A significant downturn in the notebook and desktop computer market combined with a significant increase in sales for tablet and smartphone devices saw AMD plummet from second place to fourth place in 2012. Intel still held the top spot with 65.3% of the overall microprocessor market."

I think 1TB is OK, especially when it's free. Now, that's plenty of storage for my photos, although my photography sucks, lol! The only thing you want to watch out for ... is it a slow or fast service?

"Yahoo has redesigned its Flickr photo-sharing service, offering users up to 1TB of storage without a fee. The revamp also allows users to host longer video clips and higher-resolution photos, and a new app has been launched for Android devices.

The news came hours after the company confirmed it was taking over blogging platform Tumblr. One expert said Yahoo's chief executive had "thrown down the gauntlet" to her former employer Google.

"Marissa Mayer is trying to realign the business to focus on a core set of high-traffic properties," said Chris Green, principal technology analyst at consultants Davies Murphy Group Europe. "The 1TB of ad-supported free storage is the big thing," he said.

"It puts Flickr back on the agenda making it relevant to both hobbyist and professional photographers alike, but it also reignites the whole storage capacity war that started with Gmail and that we are now seeing with cloud file sharing services."

Google offers users a total of 15GB of free storage across its core cloud services. Facebook does not impose such a limit but downgrades the quality of high-resolution photos.'

It's here ... the next generation Xbox from Microsoft (formerly codenamed Durango). Officially unveiled today, it will be called the Xbox One. The Xbox itself, looks rather a like a HTPC system with a black case and a big Xbox logo.

Leaked images show Lenovo's stunning ThinkPad S3 and S5 ultrabooks with Aluminim casing ...

"Earlier today we received a couple of photos that show off two upcoming Lenovo Ultrabooks: the 13-inch ThinkPad S3 (codename "Labatt") and the 15-inch ThinkPad S5 ("Guinness"). As you can see above and after the break, both aluminum laptops feature a new "floating design" that might have taken a page out of Samsung and Vizio's book: shaving off the front outer edges of the bottom side to create that slim and floating illusion.

Also, these will apparently come with either a black or silver lid. Some folks on Sina Weibo have received other teaser photos of the ThinkPad S5, with one confirming the presence of JBL stereo speakers. The funny thing is Chinese website Yesky reported on a charity auction that actually sold limited editions of the S3 and S5 earlier this month, but those unannounced Ultrabooks went under everyone else's radar."
