Now There’s A 3D Printer For Making Custom Gummy Candy

3D printing technology is on the verge of revolutionizing manufacturing, with recent examples including shoes and a working electric motorcycle. But now printing is about to get a lot more delicious, with a 3D printer that produces gummy candy in a variety of custom shapes and sizes. The device is called the Magic Candy Factory, and it’s being installed at Dylan’s Candy Bar stores across the US.

The Magic Candy Factory offers up 100 different designs that can be customized, or customers can choose to sketch their own creation to be printed. The device can also produce words, or scan a photo to create a gummy likeness of someone’s face.

The whole process is said to only take about 10 minutes, with just 3 to 4 minutes used for the actual printing. Users can choose from eight different flavors for their edible creation, and each one is priced around $20.

The makers of the Magic Candy Factory say the gummy ingredients are vegan and gluten-free, and are made from natural fruit and vegetable extracts as opposed to gelatin. Before becoming a gummy creation, the printer heats up the ingredients and then uses a nozzle to apply it to different shapes and forms.
