ARCTIC Accelero Twin Turbo II Review

Verdict and Conclusion

When Arctic cooling said they were sending this heatsink my way I was very excited to test it out on the HIS 7870 that had been overheating when overclocked. I can easily say that this heatsink easily fixed all of those overheating problems.

It is quiet and gives awesome cooling power. Up to around 250w of cooling power to be exact. That means you can slap it on a top of the line GPU and overclock it to its limits on air, yet still get great temperatures.

Installation is pretty easy but you need time to install it. The G1 paste is pretty awesome. It is strong, yet if you need to remove the heatsinks it comes off easily. I really like that.

Although, I do wish they included more than one packet of the paste or at least had the paste listed on their website to purchase (I couldn’t find it for sale anywhere).

The price is not too bad at all, shopping around it can be found for around $44 to your door. That is not bad at all and if your card has a poor stock cooler it could be a great investment if it lets you get another 10% or so of performance out of your card through overclocking.

Shall we summarize? There are pros:

  • Good cooling performance.
  • Fits most GPUs.
  • G1 thermal glue comes off easily.
  • Fans are pretty quiet
  • Price/performance is good
  • Tons of ram and MOSFET sinks

There are cons too:

  • Takes up three slots
  • G1 comes off easily
  • G1 can only be used once, and hard to find more of it

If you are looking for a solid GPU heatsink that does not break the bank, yet still gives great performance the Arctic Acclero Twin Turbo II is a great product. It easily beats out inferrior stock heatsinks and installing it is easy enough, although time consuming.
