The ECS Finals Will Be At Wembley In London Next Month

The finals for the Esports Championship Series (ECS) is just around the corner, now Twitch and FACEIT have announced its location.

A joint initiative between the two companies, the Counter-Strike league was launched just last month, and is the first professional esports league to offer its teams co-ownership, following a traditional sports league model.

ECS has 20 teams altogether, 10 in both North America and Europe, all battling it out for their share of $3.5 million. The included teams are: Astralis, Team Dignitas, EnVyUs, FaZe, Fnatic, G2 Esports, mousesports, Ninjas in Pyjamas, Virtus Pro, Counter Logic Gaming, Cloud9, compLexity, Echo Fox, Luminosity Gaming, NRG eSports, OpTic Gaming, Team Liquid, Team SoloMid, and Without a Roof. Natus Vincere were originally slated to play in the ECS, but pulled out at the last minute.

Astralis and FaZe currently top the European standings with four wins each, but mousesports and Virtus are close behind. Meanwhile, Luminosity and Counter Logic top the American board with nine and five wins respectively, while Cloud9 and OpTic chase their lead. Luminosity is the only team in both regions to avoid picking up a loss throughout the first ECS season.

The ECS finals will see the top four European and American teams heading over to London’s SSE Arena in Wembley from June 24 to 26, and it’s open to the public with tickets now on sale. The SSE Arena is a storied venue, with some of the most popular artists performing inside its walls, including Madonna, Beyoncé, and several Olympic events.

If you can’t make it out to London for the finals it will also be streamed on FACEIT’s Twitch channel.
