Thermaltake Chaser A71 Full-Tower Chassis Review

Verdict and Conclusion

Thermaltake has mostly gotten bigger and better with the new Chaser, but with the added space and features comes a bigger, not-so-better price.  With an average retail price of $140 USD, it’s not outrageous but perhaps $20-30 more than what you’d usually pay.

It’s not the most expensive I’ve ever seen a full-tower sell for, just… check and make sure it’s actually necessary for what you want and/or need.

Some nice features include the stress-free cable management system, which allows me to hide loose cables behind motherboard tray, and thus reducing tangled wires, which means better airflow.

As far as build quality is concerned, I’m pleased to say it’s very good … it’s what I expect from a brand name like Thermaltake. The chassis itself is very spacious and has plenty of room for allowing decent airflow throughout the chassis. So no complaint there. I do like the top-mounted HDD docking station, which allows hot-swap replacement of 2.5″ or 3.5″ hard drives. Perfect for transfering files effortlessly.

Here are the pros:

  • Plenty of cooling.
  • Definitely a lot of free space.
  • Easy hardware installation (mostly).

And the cons:

  • PSU and video card slots can be difficult.
  • A little pricey

Final WordsReally, what more can I say?  Full-tower cases are actually quite nice to have when you can afford them.  All the extra space does come in handy when you want to buy a lot of stuff and need somewhere to put it without it getting in the way of anything else.  Is the Thermaltake Chaser A71 the best chassis on the market?  Well, in my opinion it’s OK, and definitely worth considering if you’re after a gaming chassis. It’s decent enough and gives you much of what you’d expect for the price range.
