CRYORIG R1 Universal Cooler Review

Specifications and Features

Above specification is exactly the same as you can find on the CRYORIG website. It looks great and includes all we wish to know so I simply don’t want to remake it in a table.

Below you can see how R1 Universal cooler looks like with Crucial Ballistix DDR4 memory installed on the ITX motherboard. As advertised, you can install even the tallest memory modules.

Closer Look

CRYORIG R1 Universal has arrived in a retail package which is nice looking box. Even though the cooler is big, all package isn’t really big. I think it could be a bit bigger just because all additional parts like mounting kit sits really tight in additional flat box.

You can see all the package contents in the gallery. Inside the package is everything you may need to install your new cooler. It includes all parts to mount the cooler but also screwdriver and high performance thermal paste marked CP9.

CRYORIG used two different looking fans but both have not so different specification. Technical details you can find on the top of this page.

XF140 fan, which is the thicker one, is offering higher air flow but XT140 has higher air pressure. At the end performance is quite well balanced between both. Generated noise is also similar. Actually both fans are really quiet.

CUSTOMOD is an additional option offered by CRYORIG. Simply saying you can change color of your cooler. CRYORIG added two additional kits in orange and green colors so you can see how they look like. Standard color for R1 Universal is white but in most photos in this review you can see green just because I like it the most.

At the end couple of words about the cooler itself.

CRYORIG R1 Universal has seven heatpipes what looks amazing packed to quite small base which is touching processor. All has perfect contact with base but also heatsinks.

The base itself is flat and well polished but doesn’t have mirror finish. It could be a bit better but still one of the best effects we have seen. Photos are in the gallery below so you can check it yourself. It shouldn’t affect performance of the cooler but is worth to mention.

CRYORIG R1 Universal looks great and that you can see. It fits onto all motherboards which I had a chance to test but if you worry if it’s not too big for your motherboard then you can check it with Compatibility Tester available on the CRYORIG website. Great idea and simple to use. More info is available on the product page which you can find here ( click).
