To control the Lily-G mini drone, you can download the app from the App Store. It’s free of charge and has a lot of options, including …

  • Start and stop rotor engines
  • Emergency stop
  • Controls for Throttle, Rudder, Elevate and Aisle
  • Headless Mode
  • Flight plan mode
  • One key return
  • Altitude hold mode
  • Camera control – Record video and take photos
  • Rotate 180 camera view

Conclusion and Verdict

This is my first experience with a drone, and I have to say it was super FUN! It took me a while to get used to the controls, but once I got the knack of it … I was fine.

The free to download MJX H app is easy to use and has many options, see above. Just be sure you connect your smartphone to the drone’s wifi name (SSID).

What I like about the Lily-G mini drone is the built-in 720p camera. I know it’s nothing special, but for the price of HKD $599 (or USD $75), you have a mini drone that can record 720p footage and take photographs at 2 megapixel … straight on to your smartphone.

With one fully charged battery you get around 7 minutes of flight time, which is what I expected, so be prepared to buy extra spare batteries.

Measuring just 8cm across, the Lily-G from SkyStudio is a compact and light-weight drone that’s affordable, and fun to have. It’s a perfect drone to practice your flying skills before you move on to getting more bigger and more professional models, like DJI or GoPro. All-in-all, I had many “minutes” of fun with the Lily-G mini drone … just take a look at my video below 🙂
