Crucial 128GB DDR5-5600 SODIMM Memory Kit Review

Package and its Contents

Crucial DDR5 SODIMM memory arrived in a retail package, a plastic blister box. Inside are only two memory modules. The installation is straightforward, but if you need help, manuals are available on the Crucial website and also in the manual for your motherboard or laptop.

The package doesn’t have much description, except for what is necessary. Most users will order RAM from online stores, so it’s not a problem if we don’t find anything in the package.

The memory modules have standard dimensions, allowing them to work with all available devices. The PCB is black, which makes it look like a high-end product. Crucial memory is top quality, so it’s definitely a high-end product.

As expected, we won’t find heatsinks, let alone RGB illumination, on the SODIMM modules. This memory works in tight places and is usually hidden so that it wouldn’t make a difference. Due to standard voltages, it won’t ever overheat if there is any airflow in the computer’s case. Small PCs and laptops often have forced ventilation or at least have holes in the enclosure, which is sufficient. The sensors barely reached 60°C in our tests, so we are satisfied, especially since dual-side modules typically generate more heat.

The test PC is relatively small, but it doesn’t block airflow and is equipped with a small fan, primarily to aid in M.2 SSD cooling. As you can see, the installation is simple, and once we open the PC’s case, it’s clear what we need to do to install the Crucial memory modules.
