Crucial Ballistix Sport LT Red 16GB Kit (2 x 8GB) DDR4-2400 UDIMM Review

Crucial has played a very important role in the enthusiast memory market for a number of years. I remember the very first Crucial memory kit that I purchased, the 184-Pin DDR 333 flavor. Boy did it help my Athlon 64 system scream performance. A couple of years later, I made the jump to the Athlon X2 DDR2 platform. I then sprang for the Crucial Ballistix Tracer memory kit. Those LED lights were amazing to look at! Even though the memory game has changed over the years, Crucial has remained consistent by providing enthusiasts and gamers alike with the performance that we all crave.

Previously, we had a chance to take a look at the Crucial Ballistix Sport LT 32GB DDR4-2400 Memory Kit, as reviewed by Bartosz. Today we will be examining one of the latest contenders from Crucial which is the Ballistix Sport Red LT Red 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-2400 memory kit.

This memory kit boasts a clock speed of 2400mhz with a CAS Latency of 16 at 1.2 volts! Today we will put this memory through our testing suite to find out whether this kit can reach or exceed the high bar set by previous Crucial Ballistix Sport Series memory kits. Crucial was very gracious to send this memory kit (one of two) as I have recently put together a new testing rig based on the Skylake platform from Intel.
