Crucial Pro, at the highest capacity of 128 GB, has programmed two EXPO and two XMP profiles. Both profile sets are identical, so we can expect the exact primary timings on AMD and Intel motherboards. On the other hand, all programmed profiles are compatible with JEDEC standards and use 1.10V VDD/VDDQ. Crucial decided to play it safe and release this memory kit with the most basic profiles. It guarantees that the memory kit will be compatible with every consumer-grade motherboard.
DDR5 is mature enough that most available motherboards don’t have problems with RAM compatibility. The Crucial RAM works perfectly with all motherboards we use in redaction and overclocks above the rated specifications.
Below is the list of timings at the XMP-5600 profile on the Intel test rig. Performance tests will be performed on the AMD platform.
All our motherboards with the recent BIOS have had no problems with stability or compatibility. Below is an AIDA64 Stability Test. We can use various other stability tests. It’s still good to perform additional tests if we are overclocking to ensure the RAM is stable across multiple test patterns.
We wish to see tighter timings or frequencies out of the box. However, Crucial’s safe profiles should still be enough for most users.
We will look closer at the package and memory modules on the next page.
