V-Color Manta XPrism RGB 48GB DDR5-8200 Memory Kit Review

Package and its Contents

The V-Color XPrism memory arrived in a retail package about the size of the typical flat RAM box of other brands, similar to what we could see in previous V-Color memory reviews. The front shows a picture of the memory kit and its general specifications, while on the back, we can read more about the memory series and find support contacts and links to a V-Color website.

Inside, we will find two well-protected memory modules. There is no additional manual, but it’s not required as the installation is straightforward, and every motherboard has an installation guide.

The modules are 41.7mm tall, so they should fit under most large tower CPU coolers. On the other hand, most cooler brands already corrected their products, and nearly every CPU cooler works with tall memory modules. I like the V-Color X-Sky series more, as they have an even lower height, while RGB also looks excellent. However, the X-Prism also looks amazing during work, as you can see in our test rig photos.

The heatsinks of our test memory kit are nickel-plated. They could be polished better, but it’s barely visible when memory modules are installed. We will find memory general specs, product numbers, and the memory series laser engraved on the front. V-Color offers engraving as a free service while ordering memory kits from their online store so that we can ask for our name or anything else on one of the memory modules. No other brand offers such a service, and it can convince many enthusiasts to buy this specific brand.

Temperatures at the XMP profile under load are in the mid-60 °C, so they were relatively low. The memory IC is also resistant to higher temperatures. We have noticed it keeps stability at higher voltages up to 77°C+.
On top of each module is an RGB light bar. The RGB illumination works well on ASRock, ASUS, Gigabyte, and MSI motherboards. It should also work with less popular brands like Biostar or Colorful.

The V-Color memory looks fantastic on our test rig. Below are some photos taken during work.

On the next page of this review, we will take a closer look at the performance.
