XPG GAMMIX S70 Blade Specifications:

The 2TB version of the S70 Blade has a declared maximum bandwidth of up to 7400MB/s read and up to 6800MB/s write. 7400MB/s is about the upper limit for M.2 PCIe 4.0 x4, so we won’t find anything with higher sequential bandwidth unless we jump onto the latest PCIe 5.0 x4 socket.

The SSD arrived with a 0 hours counter and a perfect condition. CrystalDiskInfo shows that the SSD is brand new without SMART errors or used cells.

ADATA gives us SSD ToolBox software which diagnoses our SSD, checks the performance, optimizes the system, updates the firmware, and clones the drive. It’s everything we may need.

The idle temperature of the S70 SSD is around 45°C which isn’t low, but it’s still acceptable. It looks worse under load. As far as the included heatsink helps, then it’s still at the edge of throttling after an extended load. In short, we may see some performance drops, but as we noticed, it’s mainly in the write bandwidth, so it shouldn’t affect the gaming experience.

On the next page, we will look at the SSD itself and the package contents.
