Crucial P5 Plus 2TB M.2 PCIe 4.0 SSD (with heatsink) Review

Conclusion

The refreshed version of the P5 Plus SSD gives us the same solid performance and high stability but at lower temperatures, far from thermal throttling. The SSD itself performs well, but I guess we already wish for something faster that wouldn’t be expensive and required M.2 PCIe 5.0 socket. On the other hand, the P5 Plus performs well enough to meet gamers’ expectations, so also typical home and office users.

Crucial, as usual, delivered a product of top quality. Everything from the package to the SSD is well-designed. The SSD is covered by a 5-year warranty, which confirms that the brand is sure of the high quality of its product.

The drive uses a standard size M.2 2280, so it fits every modern computer and PS5 console. We may have problems installing it on laptops, but Crucial also sells a regular version without a heatsink.

The Crucial P5 Plus 2TB NVMe SSD with heatsink costs around $107.99 in the Amazon online store and Crucial online store. The version without a heatsink costs $97.99, so it matches some other competitive SSD that we could review in the last weeks. Most 2TB M.2 SSD will still cost more, so we can say that Crucial’s option is inexpensive.

Final words:

The Crucial P5 Plus delivers high performance and quality that is perfect for gamers and other demanding users. With the Crucial’s quality, low price, and extended warranty, you can’t go wrong picking the P5 Plus SSD.
