The T705 uses a Micron 232-layer TLC NAND and Phison E26 controller, which is precisely the same as the T700. However, further improvements made it work even faster. The specifications show that the T705 is the fastest SSD on the market right now. Our tests confirm the top performance. It’s maybe a little spoiler, but you probably expect it.

The SSD arrived with a 0-hour counter and in perfect condition. CrystalDiskInfo shows that the SSD is brand new without SMART errors or used cells.

The idle temperature is around 36°C, which is acceptable. Under load, we can see the first improvement, as the T705 runs cooler than the T700. There was no visible thermal throttling in our tests, and all results were repeatable. Our tests were performed on an open rig without additional airflow, but no other components were heating up the air around the T705 SSD. I still recommend having good airflow in the PC case.

Above is an additional diagnostic reading from AIDA64 software.
Crucial provides Storage Executive software, which shows general SSD info and SMART log, lets you update firmware, and adds other features. We have described this software multiple times, so I won’t repeat it. The Crucial Software Executive is available to download directly from Crucial’s website.

On the next page, we will look at the SSD itself and the package contents.
