Lexar NM710 1TB PCIe Gen4x4 M.2 SSD Review

The Box and Packaging

The Lexar NM710 uses the MAP1602A from Maxiotech, it’s the same DRAM-Less SSD controller as found on the NM790. This begs the question, did Lexar disable something to make this SSD operate at a lower read/write speed. It consumes up to 40% less power consumption than DRAM cache-enabled PCIe Gen 4 SSDs, which means it will produce less heat.

Installation

As you can see, the SSD does not come with any heatshield or heatspeader, we highly recommend you use the M.2 heatsinks that come with the motherboard. There was no issues during our installation.
