Silicon Power US70 1TB M.2 PCIe Gen4x4 SSD Review

Performance

Performance has been tested on the latest AMD Ryzen platform, which contains AMD R9 3900X processor and ASRock B550 PG Velocita motherboard.

All tests were performed in Windows 10 Pro x64 with the latest updates.

Let’s begin with the ATTO Disk Benchmark, which is one of the most popular applications designed to measure storage bandwidth.

ATTO is usually showing lower maximum bandwidth than we are expecting, but in this case, the US70 was able to pass its declared 5GB/s, reaching 5.26GB/s read bandwidth! The write bandwidth is a bit lower than expected but still respectable and higher than we could see on any other drive.

CrystalDiskMark is a much more interesting and more popular benchmark. The US70 is just amazing in this benchmark. We can see over 5.6GB/s read and 4.2GB/s write bandwidth. It’s significantly more than we can see in their drive’s specification and, again, the highest result we’ve seen on a single SSD!

CrystalDiskMark is also showing random bandwidth at various test files, but the most important is usually Q1T1 read, which is again exceptional. We’ve reached over 120MB/s, and it’s again the best result on a single SSD. This test is showing expected performance increase while loading many small files so it may translate into loading a large computer game. This is why gamers should focus more on random bandwidth than the sequential.

Another benchmark is PCMark 8 and its storage test. This benchmark, even though not new, is showing how the drive performs during a daily workload so various popular applications. As expected, the result is also exceptional and is reaching about the highest bandwidth available on the fastest SSD.

PCMark 10 storage tests are similar to what we could see in the PCMark 8 but base on newer applications and additional tests. Once again, the US70 passed the limits showing us some fantastic performance.

In the end, Anvil’s Storage Utilities. It’s a benchmark that usually shows lower bandwidth than expected. Even though it can’t reach 5GB/s, then our results are again the highest we’ve seen.

I think I don’t have to say again that Silicon Power US70 performs great. We can all see that on the screenshots from various benchmarks. What is even better is that all this performance we can get at a reasonable price what should convince gamers and all other demanding users who are searching for the best performance for their daily challenges. I’m sure that US70 satisfies everyone.
