Spider-Man: Miles Morales’ Confirmed To Be Standalone Title

Earlier last month, Insomniac Games confirmed that their newly announced title, Spiderman: Miles Morales will be released as a standalone title and not an extension. The confirmation from the game developer helped to quash rumors that this PlayStation 5 title is simply an expansion or a remastered version of the original franchise on PS4.

According to the developer, the game will have a smaller scope compared to the original title. However, there’s still some confusion stemming from Simon Rutter’s comment from an interview with the Telegraph. The EVP head of business in Europe at Sony Interactive Entertainment sparked the controversy after hinting that the game might come as an expansion or an extension of the previous title.

In his statement, Rutter went ahead to explain that there’s a significant Miles Morales component in the game alongside other enhancements in the game engine. Speaking of enhancements, punters can check out what are the best casinos in NJ for an enhanced gaming experience. Despite Rutter’s comments, the Spiderman franchise game developer debunked the rumors that Miles Morales will be an extension of the previous game. Through their twitter page, the publisher confirmed that this title continues the adventures of the previous release on PS 4, though as a standalone game.

Miles Morales Trailer Unveiled

Based on the game’s trailer already available on YouTube, you can tell that the title will put Miles front and center. Miles was available in PS4 as a supporting character, who had only received his spiderman abilities recently. The players enjoyed taking his role a few times, though he was never portrayed as having a full procession of his powers. Fortunately, Miles will be at the center of it all this time around, and you get to see him crawling walls, web-slinging, and diving.

Official Release Date

While the exact Miles Morales release date hasn’t been confirmed, we know that the game will be unveiled during the 2020 holiday. That’s when the highly awaited PlayStation 5 will come out. As such, many fans expect the game to be among the launch titles of this gaming console. If that happens, that may entice lots of fence-sitters to buy the new generation gaming console.

What to Expect

According to the game developer, Spiderman: Miles Morales will provide something similar to the Infamous: First Light. That means the game will tell spiderman’s complete story in a shorter timeframe than the original PS4 title. However, the game sounds as good as the title promises, with Miles being in full control of his abilities like a spider.
