ASUS today announced the Prime AP202 microATX computer case, featuring panoramic curved tempered glass for displaying internal hardware plus enhanced airflow via a unique slot vent. No matter what kind of PC a user is building — a gaming rig, creator command center, or general-purpose system — the AP202 will serve their needs and look good doing it.
Striking design
The understated design of the Prime AP202 only draws as much attention as a user wants it to. It comes in either a black or white colorway, so users can choose whichever suits their internal components best. And thanks to a curved glass window that stretches nearly halfway around the case, users will see their components from most angles.
To ensure durability, the glass used for the AP202 undergoes a tempering process, involving thermal treatment, to achieve superior strength. The finished glass features a easy-detach rail and an anti-drop mechanism, so removing it and reconnecting it to the case is a safe, simple process.
For convenience, the black and white models of the Prime AP202 come in two versions. For those who prefer to select and install the case fans of their choice, the base version of the Prime AP202 ships without any pre-installed fans. But ASUS also offers the Prime AP202 ARGB model, which comes equipped with three MR120 ARGB fans to enhance system aesthetics. These fans will also be available soon as a standalone purchase. Both models of this case include a long light band near the bottom of the case that offers a fully customizable, ambient LED accent, while ARGB fans illuminate the rest of the chassis. Users can customize all these lights to display whatever colors they want, or they can turn them off completely. These lighting settings can be easily managed from the ASUS Armoury Crate app, which can be downloaded here.
Panoramic casing
The cooling potential of the Prime AP202 has been maximized: A patented slot-shaped vent below the panel lets air flow directly to critical system components, including the graphics card. This vent design leads to higher overall airflow efficiency.
According to internal tests conducted with a competitor’s chassis that features a similar side-panel design, ASUS found that the Prime AP202 offers ideal thermal performance, bringing exterior air in to cool mission-critical components, especially the graphics card.
The Prime AP202 was specially designed with enhanced graphics card cooling in mind, so whether a user is an ardent gamer or supercharged content creator, they will have the airflow to operate at their best. Plus, for users who are serious about keeping system temperatures to an absolute minimum, this case is compatible with 360mm radiators.
In addition to exceptional cooling, top and bottom removeable dust filters help prevent dust buildup.
Quality-of-life features for the build process and beyond
The Prime AP202 sports a multitude of optimizations designed to provide an incredible building and computing experience. The case’s easy-detach rail that provides effortless access to system internals is just the start of the AP202’s user-friendly feature set.
A 30mm-wide compartment makes cable management a breeze, and a unified front I/O panel header allows for easy motherboard installation. This panel comes with a USB 20Gbps Type-C® port as well as two USB 5Gbps Type-A ports and a headphone-microphone jack. With these options, users will be able to plug in their essential peripherals with maximum convenience.
In addition to facilitating 360mm radiators, the Prime AP202 is also compatible with graphics cards up to 420mm long and power supplies up to 200mm long, giving users plenty of options for their build.
Display components proudly
The ASUS Prime AP202 gives users a next-level panoramic chassis that is designed to optimize airflow and keep components cool. With its bevy of user-friendly features and versatile compatibility, nearly anyone can build a dream system inside this case. And with two distinct colorways to pick from, the AP202 can mesh with any setup. Plus, the AP202 ARGB model is always an option for those who prefer their case fans to be pre-installed.
