NVIDIA Readies GeForce RTX 3080 Ti Laptop GPU

Featuring up to 16Gbps memory and max TGP of 175W.

Taken from VideoCardz … NVIDIA is about to announce its high-end RTX 30 Ti series for laptops in January.

Our sources have confirmed to us that RTX 3080 Ti will be the first mobile GPU to feature 16 Gbps GDDR6 memory, but this is not the only new feature of the new model. It is also to have a higher TGP compared to existing models.

The specifications of the RTX 3080 Ti Laptop GPU are not yet fully confirmed. While we await the confirmation on CUDA core count, we can already reveal that this will be the first GeForce model to feature 16GB of GDDR6 memory clocked at 16 Gbps, 2 Gbps faster than the current RTX 3080 flagship mobile GPU. Furthermore, the maximum graphics power will be increased to 175W, so 10W more than its predecessor.

It should be noted that maximum TGP is based on the configurable graphics card power with the addition of NVIDIA Dynamic Boost 2.0 technology (which shifts the power between CPU and GPU). Officially, RTX 3080 specs go to 150W+, but there are high-end laptops designs with 165W max TGP. With this in mind, RTX 3080 Ti TGP of 175W does not sound like a huge power uplift, however is unclear if is the actual limit, or something that laptop manufacturers will still be able to adjust.
