Plugable, a leading innovator in docking solutions and connectivity products, today announced the launch of three new charge-only data blocking USB-C cables engineered for maximum power delivery and uncompromising security: the USBC-CC1M (1 meter), USBC-CC2M (2 meters), and USBC-CCS5X (6-inch 5-pack).
All three models support the latest USB Power Delivery (PD) 3.1 Extended Power Range (EPR) standard, delivering up to 240W (48V/5A) of fast, safe charging for laptops, tablets, smartphones, and other high-powered devices. To ensure security, the cables physically omit all data lines, protecting against threats like juice jacking.
Unlike many charging cables that still retain USB 2.0 data lines, Plugable’s design completely removes them at the hardware level, eliminating potential data security risks. Additionally, other data-blocker solutions are designed as a separate adapter to be used in combination with your existing cabling. In order to deliver up to 240W of charging, each cable features an integrated E-Marker chip for safe and intelligent power negotiation. A distinctive red connector visually signals its charge-only function, and a cable tag details the cord’s capabilities to ensure quick identification by IT departments and individual users.
The three models only differ in length:
- USBC-CC1M – A 1-meter, travel-ready cable perfect for public charging, enterprise deployments, and on-the-go laptop or gaming device charging. Plus an included attached cable strap for cable management.
- USBC-CC2M – A 2-meter cable offering extended reach for home offices, classrooms, and conference rooms without compromising on safety. Plus an included attached cable strap for cable management.
- USBC-CCS5X – A bundle of five 6-inch cables designed for clutter-free, secure charging stations in high-traffic public areas like coworking spaces, and school tech carts.
