The XMG PRO 16 Value Edition expands the PRO 16 line-up with additional entry-level configurations featuring an Intel Core i9-14900HX and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 Ti, 5070 or 5060. Key features such as the 99.8 Wh battery, comprehensive connectivity and the functional full-size keyboard remain unchanged. However, the 1600p IPS display has been improved: with a refresh rate of 300 Hz and brightness of 500 nits, it now covers not only 100% of the sRGB color space but also the DCI-P3 gamut. This enhanced panel is also used in the updated standard XMG PRO 16, which, positioned above the Value Edition, additionally offers a Mini LED display as an optional upgrade.
With the Value Edition of the PRO series, the XMG PRO 16 VE (M25), XMG introduces a new entry-level model of its 2025 gaming and multimedia workstation. In contrast to the standard XMG PRO 16, which features Intel’s Core Ultra 9 275HX and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 Ti, the more affordable, price-performance focused Value Edition comes with a Core i9-14900HX, also offering 24 cores, and a choice of three laptop GPUs: an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 Ti, RTX 5070 or RTX 5060.
The 16-inch chassis remains unchanged. The PRO 16 VE also measures 356.7 x 252.5 x 26.5 mm, weighs 2.4 kg and is distinguished by high build quality, including an aluminium display lid. When equipped with a GeForce RTX 5070 Ti, the cooling system of the PRO 16 and PRO 16 VE is identical. It has only been adjusted in the RTX 5070 and 5060 configurations due to the lower power consumption of these GPUs. All available graphics cards consistently operate at NVIDIA’s maximum specified power limits. Including Dynamic Boost, the RTX 5070 Ti runs at 140 watts, while the RTX 5070 and 5060 reach 115 watts.
XMG offers the same tuning options as in the NEO 16 via the Control Centre and BIOS, which includes a recovery function. These options include CPU undervolting, RAM tuning, the ability to adjust CPU and GPU power limits to suit individual preferences, and custom fan curve control.
Bright 300 Hz Display, Two M.2 SSDs and up to 96 GB RAM
The XMG PRO 16 VE features an IPS panel with a resolution of 2,560 x 1,600 pixels in a 16:10 format, offering a 300 Hz refresh rate, 500 nits brightness, and 100% coverage of both the sRGB and DCI-P3 color spaces. The Full HD webcam is located at the top edge of the display and includes a physical privacy shutter. Unlike the standard PRO 16 with the Core Ultra 9 275HX, both M.2 slots in the Value Edition are connected via PCI Express 4.0. The laptop can be configured with up to 96 GB (2 x 48 GB) of DDR5 SO-DIMM memory. Heatshields and thermal pads help to reduce the temperature of these components.
Extensive Rear Connectivity and RGB Keyboard with N-Key Rollover
At the rear of the PRO 16 VE, XMG has positioned a Mini DisplayPort 2.1, an HDMI 2.1 port, and a USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 port with DisplayPort 1.4a and 140 watts of Power Delivery. On the sides, the laptop offers a second USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 port with DisplayPort 1.4a and 100 watts of Power Delivery, three USB-A 3.2 Gen1 ports, 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet, a high-speed SD Express-compatible full-size card reader, and a 2-in-1 audio jack for headset and microphone. This comprehensive connectivity allows the laptop to natively connect up to four eternal monitors. Wireless communication is handled via Wi-Fi 7.
The keyboard matches the one found in the NEO 16 and standard PRO 16: a full numeric keypad, full-size offset arrow keys, RGB per-key backlighting, anti-ghosting, and N-key rollover are also included in the Value Edition. Completing the input setup is a 123 x 77.5 mm glass-like mylar touchpad with gliding characteristics comparable to glass touchpads.
XMG PRO 16 Receives Optional Upgrade to Mini LED Display
With the launch of the Value Edition, XMG is also refreshing the standard PRO 16, now offered in the model version M25. The previous entry-level configuration with the Core i9-13900HX is replaced by the new Value Edition, which features the Core i9-14900HX and a broader range of GPU options. As a result, the XMG PRO 16 (M25) is exclusively available with an Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 Ti, offering additional CPU platform-specific advantages such as PCI Express 5.0 for the primary SSD and support for CSO DIMM RAM modules with up to 6400 MT/s. The rear USB-C port is integrated as Thunderbolt 4.
The updated PRO 16 (M25) also introduces improvements to the display options. In addition to the 500-nit, 300 Hz IPS panel, which now offers 100% coverage of both the sRGB and DCI-P3 color spaces, the laptop can be configured with an optional Mini LED display. Already familiar from the NEO 16, the Mini LED panel features the same 2,560 x 1,600 resolution and 300 Hz refresh rate but is brighter with 750 nits in SDR and up to 1,000 nits in HDR compared to the IPS display. It also supports local dimming, which can be disabled if desired, and covers 100% of both the sRGB and DCI-P3 color spaces.
