Synology today announced the launch of the DS725+, a compact 2-bay storage solution. “The DS725+ offers users a compact and capable storage platform that can accommodate future growth in storage demands,” said Anya Lin, Product Manager at Synology. “This makes it an ideal choice for home, home office, and edge environments.”
The 2-bay DS725+ offers scalability for growing data needs with support for one DX525 expansion unit, providing up to 5 additional drive bays for up to 140 TB of raw data. For network connectivity, the DS725+ features a 2.5GbE port along with a 1GbE RJ-45 port. Additionally, it supports M.2 NVMe SSDs for either SSD caching or high-performance all-flash.
DS725+ is engineered as a full-featured system to deliver consistent performance and reliability with Synology hard drives. It follows a carefully curated drive compatibility framework, backed by over 7,000 hours of rigorous testing. To ensure optimal integration and long-term dependability, DSM on the DS725+ requires compatible hard drives for installation.
