Corsair FRAME 5000D RS ARGB Modular Mid-Tower Case Review

Installation

For our PC build, we used a MSI MAG Z890 TOMAHAWK WiFi motherboard. Installation was nice and simple with plenty of room to really dig your hands inside the chassis.

We then mounted the Corsair iCUE LINK 420 RX RGB AIO cooler on the top of the chassis. And thanks to Corsair’s InfiniRail fan mounting system, installing the 420mm radiator was nice and easy with no issues at all.

However, I did encounter one little problem. Although the chassis can support GPUs with length of up to 450mm, the GPU anti-sag stabilization arm actually prevented one of my GPU fans from spinning. In the end, I did not use it to support the GPU (middle row, 3rd photo).

The Finished Item

All-in-all, I enjoyed building the PC using the Corsair FRAME 5000D. Installation was smooth and I didn’t encounter any issues at all. Like the original FRAME 4000D, the new FRAME 5000D is also fully modular, allowing you to install as many cooling fans you want, in whatever configuration you like.

I really like the 4 x pre-installed RS140 cooling fans, as it really helps with the airflow and gives it great aesthetics. You get 3 fans at the front, and 1 at the back of the chassis.

The Corsair FRAME 5000D features a PSU cover which runs across the bottom of the chassis. Some of you may or may not like it. For me, I’m ok with it, as long as it doesn’t stop me from installing additional cooling fans/radiators when necessary.

All said and done, I’m more than happy with the finished PC build.
