Dell Latitude E7280 Ultra Slim Laptop Review

Over the past 18 months we’ve reviewed quite a few Dell laptops, from the award winning XPS13 range to the business class Latitude models… all of which impressed us, surprisingly.

In today’s review, we’ll be taking a look at the new Dell Latitude E7280 laptop, which is the latest in the line of E7xxx laptops… call it a refreshed model if you will.

It’s powered by the older 6th Gen. dual core Intel Core i5-6300U processor (Sky Lake) running at 2.4GHz, featuring 3Mb cache. I was hoping the processor would be the newer 7th Gen. Intel Core processor (Sky Lake), but that wasn’t meant to be. Our review sample comes with 8Gb of DDR4 ram, 256Gb M.2 SATA SSD and 12.5″ FHD (1920 x 1080) Anti-Glare, Non-touch screen.

2017 brings a load of new and exciting features for laptops, these include a new DisplayPort over USB Type C™ with optional Thunderbolt™ 3 capability. For connectivity, you’ll also find 1 x uSD 4.0 Memory card reader, 2 x USB 3.1 Gen 1 (one with PowerShare), 1 x HDMI, 1 x RJ-45 LAN port, 1 x External uSIM card tray option, 1 x 1 Noble Wedge Lock slot, SmartCard Reader and Touch Fingerprint Reader. Wow.. what a list!

We’ll be testing the Dell Latitude E7280 using FutureMark’s new PCMark10, along with our usual Benchmarking software. I’m not expecting any performance improvements or benefits over its predecessor, the Latitude E7270. We will find out…

Now let’s take a closer look at the specifications on our next page…
