ADATA XPG Lancer RGB 32GB DDR5-7200 Memory Kit Review

Package and its Contents

ADATA Lancer arrived in a retail package, which is a small, flat box. The box is about the same size as that of most DDR5 memory kits. The exterior design is shared within the XPG product line with a flashy red background – perfect for gaming products.

The package contains two memory modules and nothing else. This is enough to install our brand-new RAM. The installation is straightforward, and even less advanced users can handle it without problems.

The 7200MT/s memory kit looks similar to the previously reviewed ADATA Lancer RGB memory kit. The main difference makes the label with product and serial numbers and, of course, a much higher frequency.

As the product name suggests, it’s equipped with RGB illumination, and it’s hard to miss it as the backlight is bright and the light bar is quite large. ADATA RGB modules are fully compatible with all leading motherboard brands. It worked fine with ASUS, ASRock, BIOSTAR, and MSI motherboards in our redaction.

The tested memory kit uses Hynix A-die IC, which is known to require lower voltages at the same frequencies as the Hynix M-die or competitive IC from Samsung. It still has similar thermal limits above, which will start to generate errors. As long as DDR5 is designed to work up to even 90°C and more, then at higher than standard (read JEDEC default specifications), it may lose stability at 70°C+. The large heatsinks of ADATA memory guarantee optimal temperatures, and at least in our tests, we could bump voltages without additional cooling, which suggests there is significant headroom for overclocking.

The ADATA Lancer looks excellent, especially with RGB illumination.

Below, you can see some photos of the test platform, and on the next page, we will tell you some more about the performance.
