G.Skill Trident Z 16GB DDR4-3200 CL16 Memory Kit Review

G.Skill Trident Z is probably the best DDR4 memory series on our market. As expected, it’s performing great and keeps full stability in all operations. We had no problems with compatibility on ASUS and MSI motherboards during the tests. XMP profile was also working like it supposed to on Intel Skylake motherboards. I can’t say the same about some other memory series from other manufacturers.

Unique, new design of Trident Z memory is one of the main reasons to buy this memory. All enthusiasts and modders will for sure consider Trident Z regardless of declared speed. In real they look even better than on the photos.

Overclocking is also important for many users and here we had no issues to pass DDR4-3333 mark which is hard for most memory kits based on 8GB or higher capacity modules.

Price is also important factor. Here is little surprise. 16GB DDR4-3200 CL16-18-18-38 Trident Z memory kit costs about $130. It’s less than most other DDR4-3200 memory kits. We can of course find cheaper options like G.Skill Ripjaws V which costs about $10 less but I think it’s worth to pay extra for that exceptional looks.

There are no problems with availability. All better online stores have Trident Z memory on stock and some even up to DDR4-4200+. In stores the highest available 2x8GB kit is DDR4-3400 but I see DDR4-3600 listed on the G.Skill website so we can expect to see it available soon.

  • High performance
  • High Overclocking potential
  • Great looks
  • Inexpensive for this class of memory
  • Lifetime warranty

  • Heatsinks look great but may interfere with some large CPU cooling solutions

Final Words

If you are looking for the best DDR4 memory series on the market then Trident Z is memory for you. Exceptional performance, design and quality in one package. When we add great support and low price ( for this kind of memory ) then we get perfect option for our extreme PC.

It’s hard not to recommend Trident Z 2x8GB DDR4-3200 CL16 memory kit. It’s a clear winner !!!
