The Box and Packaging

The packaging contains the usual items such as the user’s manual, a Steel Legend postcard, a pair of SATA cables, 3 sets of M.2 screws and mounts, a pair of velcro straps for cable management, and a set of WiFi 6e antennas.

 

The ASRock B760M Steel Legend Wifi Motherboard

The motherboard has a nice white/silver/black camo design, and comes in a micro ATX form factor, allowing you to install this on to pretty much any computer case out there.

For cooling, there’s one silver heatsink that cover the VRM/Mosfets on the top of the motherboard, and another large heatsink that covers the I/O hood. There’s also 2 x M.2 Armor heatsinks for the SSD slots and more smaller heatsink for the chipet.

 

A Closer Look

To power the board, there are 2 x 8-pin PCIE power connectors on the top left-hand corner of the board. These needs to be connected, and will give the board extra stability during heavy load etc.

Expansion slots inlcude 1 x PCIe 5.0 x16 slot and 1 x PCIe 4.0 x1 slot. The PCIE 5.0 x16 slot come with surface mount technology and reinforced steel, which gives it better physical strength, as well as a more stable memory signal.

If you like RGB, there’s 2 x 3-pin ARGB (5V) headers located on the top right side of the motherboard, and 1 x 3-pin ARGB (5V) header, as well as1 x 4-pin RGB (12V) near the bottom left side of the board.

There’s plenty of USB connectivity. You get a total of 15 USB ports, which includes 2 x USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-C (1 Rear, 1 Front), 1 x USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-A (Rear), 6 x USB 3.2 Gen1 (4 Rear, 2 Front) and 6 x USB 2.0 (2 Rear, 4 Front).

On the back of the motherboard, you’ll find a special eDP port which allows you to install ASRock’s optional external LCD display panel.

For connectivity, you get the Dragon 2.5Gb/s LAN, as well as WiFi 6E 802.11ax. And for storage options, you get 4 x SATA3 ports and 3 x Hyper M.2 (PCIe Gen4x4) slots.

The rear I/O panel includes 1 x HDMI 2.1 port, 1 x DisplayPort 1.4, WiFi 6e antenna connectors, PS2 keyboard/mouse, – 1 x USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-A Port (10 Gb/s), 1 x USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-C Port (10 Gb/s), 4 x USB 3.2 Gen1 Ports,  2 x USB 2.0 Ports,  1 x RJ-45 LAN Port, and an array of HD Audio Jacks: Line in / Front Speaker / Microphone.
