Software

COLORFUL is adding functional software that can be used for RGB management but also hardware monitoring. As you can see in the screenshot below, we can adjust lighting using RGB/ARGB headers and a light bar built into the motherboard. The software is also showing us the PC picture with a lighting preview.

Below you can see some effects in a rainbow mode on our test rig.

BIOS/UEFI and Overclocking

The print screen option in BIOS doesn’t work on any of my USB drives. It says that the file was saved but it’s not there. I guess that the new BIOS will fix it but sadly I can’t show you all the BIOS options. What I can tell you is that all popular options are available and also the most advanced options that we can find in the high overclocking motherboard series.

Once we enable the “OverClocking Feature”, all voltages and other overclocking options will be available for us. By default, the motherboard sets a 240W CPU power limit and a 340W package power limit. Both settings are optimal for all available processors. If it’s not enough then we can add some more manually. The motherboard has no problems handling the i9 series processors without throttling but our tests will be based on the i5-12600K processor which is more than enough for modern games. maybe doesn’t have as many options as in the highest overclocking motherboards, but plenty of settings should satisfy most users. Below are some screenshots which are showing available options.

On our i5-12600K processor and Acer Predator 16GB DDR4-3600 CL14 (Samsung B-die) memory kit, the results are pretty good. We could reach 5.1GHz on all performance cores and 4.1GHz on all efficient cores but also DDR4-3800 CL14-14-14 at Gear 1 and Command Rate 1N. We wish to see the DDR4-4000 at Gear 1 mode, but our result is also not bad, considering it’s fully stable.

Now it’s time for some tests, so we are moving to the next page.
