Lenovo Thinkpad Tablet 2 (Windows 8 Pro) Review

A closer look at the Lenovo Thinkpad Tablet 2

The Lenovo Thinkpad Tablet 2 comes with a wealth of connectivity. You get 1x USB 2.0, 1x Mini HDMI, 1x MicroSD card slot, 1x 3.5mm mic/headphone combo, 1x SIM card slot for 3G/LTE mobile broadband, 1x Docking connector (for keyboard etc.)

You also get a front-facing 2MP, 720P HD webcam with LED. On the rear, you get a 8MP, auto-focus camera with LED flash. Other features include a power-on/off/sleep button, an auto-rotate button, volume controls, a Windows logo for power on-off and finally an optional digitizer pen.

As far as features are concerned … the Lenovo Thinkpad Tablet 2 certain has delivered. I only wished it came with all the other optional accessories 😉

The weight and size comparison

Weighing at only 0.56Kg or 1.25lb … it’s one of the lightest tablets we’ve encountered in our testing labs. I had an old iPad (1st Gen) laying around, so I grabbed it and compared the size and weight. Let me tell you … I was definitely surprised by its size, weight, but more importantly, its thickness.

Even when comparing with Apple’s New iPad (4th Gen) which weighs in at 0.65Kg or 1.44lb, the Lenovo Thinkpad Tablet 2 is still lighter in weight.

The wide-screen (16:9) format of the enovo Thinkpad Tablet 2 makes watching movies a real treat … no more black borders, all of my wide-screen movies fit perfectly across the full screen.
