The 2TB version of the P510 has a declared maximum bandwidth of up to 10,000 MB/s for read operations and up to 8,700 MB/s for write operations. In our tests, we could reach the declared bandwidth. On the other hand, product features suggest it can be even higher, depending on the test environment.
Crucial doesn’t specify the warranty length, except to note that it offers various warranty options. However, we can see information about a 5-year warranty on the box. The other limiting factor is TBW, which determines the amount of data that can be written to the SSD during its lifetime. The 2TB P510 SSD has a 1200 TBW rating. It’s typical for any 3D TLC NAND, while the P510 uses the Micron 276-layer G9 3D TLC NAND.
The P510 is based on a Phison E31-T controller optimized for DRAM-less design. This design promises lower temperatures and costs while maintaining high performance.
The SSD arrived with a 0-hour counter and was in perfect condition. CrystalDiskInfo indicates that it is brand new, with no SMART errors or used cells.
The idle temperature is around 35°C, which is normal. Under load, the P510 SSD can reach 75°C, which is close to the threshold for throttling. We observed a performance drop during extended high loads, which shouldn’t occur during regular work, gaming, or other daily activities. It’s recommended to use a motherboard heatsink or buy the version with a pre-installed heatsink.
Crucial provides Storage Executive software, which displays general SSD information and SMART log, allows firmware updates, and offers additional features.
The Crucial Software Executive is available to download directly from Crucial’s website. On the next page, we will examine the SSD itself and its package contents.
