The new X10 portable SSD resembles the previously reviewed X9 and X10 Pro models. The main difference is the color, which is blue. There are also changes inside the enclosure, but it’s impossible to check them without damaging it so that we will skip it.
The SSD arrived in perfect condition with 0GB written.
Crucial provides Storage Executive software, which displays the same SMART data and offers additional options, such as firmware updates. It’s mentioned in each Crucial review, so it’s well-known, and I will skip it this time. I want to add that the SSD arrived in a retail package with the latest firmware.
The average temperature is very low. We can count on up to 50°C (internal) during maximum load, making it one of the coolest portable SSDs on the market. The average temperatures are similar to those of the X9 SSD and slightly lower than the X10 Pro SSD.
On the next page, we will examine the SSD and the package contents.
