Conclusion and Verdict
The FURY Renegade G5 is the best SSD we reviewed and probably the best on the consumer market. It offers the highest performance and low operating temperatures in a device-friendly single-side design that fits every possible computer with an M.2 2280 PCIe socket.
The SSD doesn’t require additional cooling and never throttles due to overheating, as the typical temperature is not much above 50°C! This is a breakthrough among PCIe 5.0 SSDs, which have had problems with overheating until now and couldn’t be installed in tiny computers, PS5 consoles, or thin laptops.
The FURY Renegade’s performance is impressive, especially in demanding tests and everything that uses heavy multi-threading and random operations. Tests based on many small files also show exceptional results, which is crucial in many new online games.
A five-year warranty or a 4PBW covers the FURY Renegade G5 4 TB. Five years is not the longest option on the market, but the 4PBW is the highest endurance we can find and is probably even more important than a five-year warranty.
The SSD is not cheap. Since the official premiere is today, few stores have it available, but it’s listed in stores like Newegg for around $599. It’s not really bad for such a fast 4TB SSD, as the competition has even more expensive SSDs, but it’s definitely not cheap.
Final words:
Kingston FURY Renegade G5 4TB is the fastest SSD we’ve tested to date. It also combines everything that most demanding users want—high endurance, low operating temperature, a large capacity, long warranty, and high TBW factor. It’s clearly the best SSD you can get right now!
