Kingston HyperX 3K 240GB Na’Vi Limited Edition SSD Review

Performance

I’m going to show how Kingston HyperX 3K Na’Vi Limited Edition SSD is running on our testing platform based on MSI X79A-GD45 Plus motherboard. Drive has been connected to Intel integrated controller and of course SATA 3 port. It’s pretty common storage controller so results should be comparable to other systems with Intel chipsets.

ATTO Disk Benchmark

ATTO is one of the most popular storage benchmarks. With ATTO we can measure sequential read and write transfers.

Kingston NaVi SSD ATTO

As we see on the attached screenshot, Kingston’s SSD is running even faster than declared. Maximum read transfer is nearly 560MB/s while write is 539MB/s. That’s great result considering that we are not using any special storage controller.

Crystal Disk Mark 3.0.1 x64

Crystal Disk Mark besides sequential transfers is showing us also drive’s speed in random operations. This is also really popular storage benchmark so results should be easily comparable to other platforms.

Also in this benchmark HyperX 3K is showing really good results. Here we can focus on 4K random read transfer which is one of the highest single drive results that I saw, achieving over 43MB/s. Simply great random read transfer.

AS SSD Benchmark

AS SSD is similar to Crystal Disk Mark but tested files are different size so results can’t be compared. It’s also testing sequential and random transfers but also have access time test.

Kingston NaVi SSD ASSSD

AS SSD is showing slightly worse results but overall it still looks good. Both, sequential and random bandwidths are high. Maybe not as high as in Crystal Disk Mark but are also above average for SSD this grade.

Anvil’s Storage Benchmark

Anvil’s benchmark is similar to all above tests but is also adding IOPS ( Input-Output Operations per Second ) for all test stages.

Kingston NaVi SSD ANVIL

In this benchmark we can see mix of all above results so high bandwidth in sequential and random operations.

Most important for daily work and games are read transfers and in these tests Kingston HyperX 3K Na’Vi Limited Edition SSD looks really good. Slightly worse looks write but as I already mentioned it’s not as important as read and we won’t see bigger difference on home computers. Above results are showing that Kingston’s SSD will be perfect for a gaming PC.
