Package and Contents
We received the MP44Q 2TB SSD in the retail package. The package is well-described, including general specifications and contact information for support. For more details or an installation manual, please visit the TEAMGROUP website. M.2 SSD installation is straightforward, and every motherboard or laptop has a quick installation guide, so we don’t have to worry.
The SSD had a graphene label pre-installed. If the label isn’t installed and we use the SSD on laptops or motherboards without additional, large heatsinks, then utilizing the graphene one is recommended. If we have a motherboard with a dedicated M.2 heatsink, then it doesn’t matter if we install the included graphene label.
The only absolute requirement for optimal performance is an M.2 2280 PCIe 4.0 x4 socket. The SSD is backward compatible with the PCIe 3.0 standard; however, this will result in reduced performance.
The SSD is single-sided, meaning that its components are located on one side of the PCB. This is particularly important for thin laptops, where there is insufficient space for double-sided SSDs.
Our tests were performed on the latest AMD Ryzen mini PC featuring the Ryzen 255H CPU. This PC is equipped with 4.0 x4 sockets so that it won’t limit the MP44Q’s performance in any test.
We will present the performance of the MP44Q 2TB SSD on the next page of this review.
