This year's theme for Thermaltake is the colour white. Their chassis, coolers even their power supplies now come in white. The "Snow" series does seem to make things more interesting. For more photos ...click "Read More".

XSReviews spends a day at Gadget Show Live 2011 hosted at the NEC, Birmingham, UK. He takes a look at some of the hardware and games being showcased at the event. There's lots of photos including some show girls! ... I love show girls!
"While more tech related than PC hardare, the Gadget Show Live has grown into quite an event; it certainly outstrips the UK hardware show Channel Expo which has become rather dull of late. Because of this, yours truly and one of our infrequent writers paid the show a visit.
Aside from taking pictures of the ladies helping to advertise the gadgets on show, we also tested a few cool bits of hardware, talked our throats ragged and played some of the more exciting upcoming games."
Thanks to Intel and their APAC team ... Funky Kit was cordially invited to attend the prestigious Beijing IDF 2011 event. This year it's being held at the China National Convention Center (CNCC) in Beijing, on the 12th-13th April. We're hoping to see some exclusive hardware from Intel and their partners. We'll be expecting to see Intel's next-gen ATOM processors (Oak Trail and Cedar Trail), as well as some pre-production samples of Intel's new Ivy Bridge processor and platform, which will be based on Intel's new 22nm technology.

That's right, Bobnova is cooling his Intel core i7 2600k, Gigabyte P67A-UD4-B3 and Zotac GTX480 down to well below zero with dry ice and benching the hell out of them!
The goal of this session is to beat enough other people with similar hardware to gain points on hwbot.org, the database that tracks competition overclocking. My team is on a major push to get into the top10 in the world, and I'm working on getting into the top 200 in the world and top 30 in the USA. How much this session will help my personal goals I don't know yet as the Zotac GTX480, while massively powerful, is behind the GTX580 in power.
This will be my first time benching with a video card subzero, once I have things well figured out I will be taking my Zotac GTX580 cold as well. That should yield some massive points as the card will already overclock to over 1ghz core on the stock air cooling, Zotac put together a damn good card here and I'm glad I was lucky enough to snag it.

The Funky Kit Team recently attended the Mobile Asia Congress 2010 exhibition in Hong Kong. This year, it's being held at the HKEC (Hong Kong Exhibition Center). It's one of Asia's biggest events for the mobile industry and related businesses. It's an opportunity for vendors to show off some of their new products and services. We're expecting to see new hardware and possibly new mobile phones, tablets, wireless products and mobile devices.

Overclocking
What is overclocking? and what is all the fuss about? Well, overclocking is technique in which users tweak and adjust various settings on the motherboard, so that a cheaper processor can achieve the speeds, only available on more expensive processors. I remember back in 1995, during my early days of DIY computing, overclocking was only popular with the hardcore enthusiasts, and it was a very niche market. Nowadays, overclocking has become extremely popular, not only for the hardcore extreme enthusiasts, but also for regular mainstream users. The reason behind this, is because many manufacturers have introduced new innovative technologies and features, that allow easier overclocking ... achieving near impossible speeds.

GO OC, also known as GIGABYTE Open Overclocking Championship, is the NO.1 brand in holding worldwide overclocking competition. Starting from year 2008, we devoted ourselves to have a close relationship with worldwide overclockers to promote our high-end products, and this will be the 3rd year we are having this huge event.
Before we start ... I would like to send my condolences to all the families of the tragic hostage incident, which happened in the Philippines on Sunday. We will hold a 3 minute silence tomorrow as a mark of respect.
This is the first time that Funky Kit has attended the CHKCI 2010 Computer Exhibition, which was held in Hong Kong's Exhibition Center - Wan Chai. It's not as big as Computex (Taiwan) of course ... but it's the biggest in Hong Kong, considering there's only 7 million residents. Nevertheless, it's a chance to escape my cave and explore the computer scene a little more.

This year at the CHKCI 2010, it was all about portables, notebooks, netbooks and tablets. Lenovo, Asus, Fujitsu, Sony and Olevia ... all had big booths showing off their latest notebook/netbook models. Antivirus companies including Kaspersky and Norton also got it on the act too.
