GEIL EVO Potenza DDR4-2400 16GB Memory Kit Review

Today, we’ll be taking a look at the the GEIL EVO Pontenza DDR4-2400 16GB Dual Channel Memory Kit. According to GEIL, these modules are their latest, top of the line DDR4 Gaming Memory. They’re  rated to run at DDR4-2400 (1200MHz) @ 1.2v with memory timings of 15-15-15-35.

 

 

From the outset, the The GEIL EVO Potenza DDR4 memory  kits come equipped with some good looking red heat spreaders, but no LEDs. The Potenza heat-spreader are designed with GeIL’s MTCD – Maximum Thermal Conduction & Dissipation technology for superior cooling efficiency. What’s more, they’re DBT certified (Die-Hard Burn-In Technology). Basically, the memory modules are put through burn-in test with temperatures increased to 100 degrees Celsius for 24 hours.

These memory modules are rated to run at DDR4-2400 (1200MHz) @ 1.2v with some nice low memory timings of 15-15-15-35, so it should give us some pretty good performance. We will find out in our benchmark and testing …

For our tests, we’ll be using our MakeMeCooler Doraemon PC build which consist of a Gigabyte Z270X Ultra Gaming motherboard, along with and Intel Core i5 – 7600K (Kaby Lake) and a Zotac GeForce GTX 1070 AMP Extreme Edition.
