The NUC 13 Pro represents an improved (premium) version of the NUC 13 “Arena Canyon” model, introduced several weeks ago. Primarily geared towards catering to the demands of businesses and enterprise professionals seeking an alternative to conventional laptops, this high-end variant presents itself as an ideal desktop replacement. Distinguishing itself from its predecessor, the updated version boasts an all-new metallic chassis, coupled with a honeycomb ventilation system specifically designed to enhance heat dissipation efficiency and mitigate noise emissions, resulting in a low 32 dB noise level.
Notably, the NUC 13 Pro incorporates Intel’s 13th Generation Core CPU series, featuring the choice between the Core i5-1340P and i7-1360P processors. These processors are endowed with four Performance cores and eight Efficient Atom cores, so 12 cores in total. Furthermore, these CPUs integrate state-of-the-art Xe G7 graphics, which should be enough for a daily business use.
The Vivid Canyon relies on DDR4-3200 memory and supports full-sized M.2 2280 NVMe storage compatible with PCIe Gen4 specs. Similar devices from AMD already feature DDR5 memory, however, Intel has been lagging behind in this regard with their Mini-PCs.
The system is just 11.7×11.2×37 mm in size, and it relies on a 120W charger. Users can attach up to two Thunderbolt 4 deices through USB Type-C connectors and extend display outputs to four through additional HDMI ports.
The first system is currently listed on Newegg at $499, which is a barebone version without memory and storage. This PC has a Core i5-1340P on board. Chinese customers can already find the same system at 4009 RMB and Core i7 model starting from 5999 RMB.
