Kingston MobileLite Wireless Review

A Closer Look

After unboxing the MobileLite Wireless, you’ll find the device nicely bubble-wrapped and neatly packaged. Also in the box,  there’s a USB cable for charging/re-charging, a microSD to standard SD card converter and an instruction pamphlet.

The total dimensions of the device is 124.8mm x 59.9mm x 16.65mm, and weighs in at 98g. Not extremely compact as one might excpect but still, it does the job as described on the box.

The overall build quality is good. The plastic casing is adequate, although I prefer acrylic more. There’s power button is on the side on the unit. Turn this on if you want to activate the wireless feature. For connectivity, there’s a SD card slot at one end of the unit, and a USB connector on the other (used for charging your mobile device or you can use it for USB flash drives). There’s also a microUSB connector next to it. This used for recharging the unit itself. A USB cable is included with the package, so you can start charging the MobileLite Wireless right away.

The App

The MobileLite Wireless app is free and easy to use. You can download from Apple’s App store or Google’s Play store. The device supports Wi-Fi 802.11g/n standard with wireless security (WPA2). File formats include MP3, WAV, m4v, mp4 (H. 264 video codec), jpg, tiff, pdf. It even supports your iPhone camera roll which is great.
